The staff at the Palomar is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were kept clean and stocked with plenty of glasses and towels. They even give you plush, animal print robes to use during your stay. Wireless internet is free in the room as long as you sign up for the Kimpton rewards program. Complimentary coffee and tea are offered in the lobby each morning and complimentary wine is a nice treat from 5-6pm. One night during my stay the wine hour was accompanied with a chocolate buffet (chocolate covers pretzels and strawberry, espresso dusted truffles, salted chocolaty almonds.)
The valet/door seemed a bit understaffed. There was not always someone there to greet us when we arrived back at the hotel.
Location and comfort of room as well as the breakfast.
The shuttle service to Atlantic Station.
Very modern appealing ambience, comfortable room, great shower, extremely comfortable bed
Wow! I have never encountered such friendly and helpful staff at any hotel before. They think of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room was very nice and clean. It was a great place to stay with friends for the weekend.
I liked that I was able to bring my dogs. Also I enjoyed the wine hour and the hotel restaurant,
I thought the staff could have been a little more attentive. Also the bed could have been cleaner. There was a blood stain on the pillow and a unknown stain on the bed ruffle.
This hotel is a diamond in the rough, an untapped treasure. It’s contemporary décor, modern detail, and stylish comforts made it the perfect in-town getaway for a classy, romantic evening with my husband. The hotel felt quaint and didn’t have a lot of traffic coming in and out, making our stay that much more intimate and relaxing. You wouldn’t notice the hotel is pet friendly because it is so clean and well kept (even the fitness center). We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back soon.
From the moment you walk in the door, the property exudes a welcome Hip-Chic. The fireplace in the lobby Living Room, the spectaclar stone and design, and the rocking staff make this a wonderful place to lay your head. The tubs in the Master Suites are divine!! Five star quality, four star pricing!
Cleanliness of hotel and quality of rooms and structure. Avery of the valet parking group was outstanding. The manager, Jeffrey Johnson was very willing to work through a number of issues we had with the billing process for the 4 rooms I had reserved for the 3 nights. Booking was made via Booked.net through Renaissance. We spent an hour working through the issues on the night prior to check-out. Tajesh Patel, a desk clerk, was also very helpful.
Most of the desk staff are apparently very new and have a lot to learn about customer service. Platitudes and positive verbal assertions just don't get it done. I think either better selection and/or training of staff is very important along with each desk clerk's understanding and willingness to address the details of questions that come up. After I called the day before check-in to clarify our room arrangements and confirmation of residents in the rooms, none of the information had been entered into the system, and the mgr, Jeffery Shannon had to reconcile. Another nice job by Jeffery. I was impressed that the manager, Jeffery Johnson took about an hour's worth of time on the night before check-out to get the bills squared away. Unfortunately, the next morning, the desk clerk informed my son (age 34 and a corporate mgr) that I had paid for his room (all rooms were split by those in the room), which I had not, and it was so reflected on my bill that I had only paid for my room and not my son's share. I then called Jeffrey yesterday to let him know that we had not paid for part of a room, but then learned apparently that the desk clerk had charged the bill against my credit card in any event. So, bottom line, all charges were reconciled, but I felt it inappropriate that the desk clerk went ahead and made a charge (not reflected on my final paper bill) that was placed against my credit card, without informing me.
